ON FIRE NOW:

Congratulations Joppe for your book!

Joppe Quaedvlieg - a familiar face and soul for many burners from for example Helsinki Decompression organizing team - released his first book in the beginning of April. Reaching Escape Velocity: A Proposal for an Alternative Way of Being consist of 30 mental landscapes and situations that he ponders from different approaches inviting the reader to do the same exploration.

"Through stories, spells and occasional poetry, Joppe takes us through an extended diary of his thinking and creative works to inspire us to take a leap of faith and have the courage to follow those instincts that lurk in the back of our minds."
- quote from the book description written by Sebastian Nemeth.

"Using your tools and empathy, you may find that there are hidden stories within these stories. Stories that are capable of explaining some of the things people sometimes call the mysteries of life."
- quote from the book foreword by Peter Tapio.

Joppe revealed his thoughts during the writing process in the book reveal party:
"When the manuscript came back from my editor’s first round of editing, I was struck by how personal the text felt. However, during the finalization process, the emotional turmoil began to settle, and shortly before giving the final approval for printing, I realized that, in the end, it wasn’t me who wrote the book: it was written by the entire community around me."

Thank you and congratulations Joppe!
