Helsinki Decompression 2025 applications are open!
Have you ever imagined how exciting an event could be if the program were designed by you and all the other participants? Helsinki Decompression is a unique carnival of creativity and co-creation—a celebration of community and its people, showcasing their art, performances, music, and the pure joy of togetherness. Welcome to co-create with us!
Experience yourself
and your infinite reflections:
are you getting lost, or being found?
This year’s theme is Mirrors of self-discovery. We invite you to reflect: What does this theme mean to you? How can you express it through your art, music, or contributions to the program?
At Helsinki Decompression, we aim to break down the barriers between artists and participants. Here, you don’t just come to be entertained—you come to entertain. In the spirit of equality, everyone is required to purchase a ticket, regardless of the type of program you bring or the hours you dedicate to organizing.
Aligned with the principles of Burning Man, any profits will not be used to pay salaries for the production team but rather allocated as financial support for as many projects as possible. Please note, however, that financial support is not guaranteed.
Links to applications
As the variety of arts, artists, and programs has grown over the years, we’re introducing five different application forms this year. Take your time to review them carefully and complete your application accurately—but don’t delay! The Arts & Program team will begin reviewing applications in January, working in two-week phases.

- Stages
- Workshops and other participatory program applications
- Performing Arts & Live Music

Please notice that even you are planning on performing / playing a set on a stage that your team is applying and planning on creating, you also need to fill the application. Final deadline for applications is on Sunday 2.3.2025 at 23:59
